  1. Salyut is a series of seven space stations 
  2. launched by the USSR 1971-82. Salyut was 
  3. cylindrical in shape, 15m (50 ft long), and 
  4. weighed 19 tonnes (21 tons). It housed two or 
  5. three cosmonauts at a time, for missions 
  6. lasting up to eight months.
